Finance Analyst

Pernod Ricard Travel Retail Americas (PRTRA) is the premium spirits and wine supplier throughout duty-free and domestic markets of the Caribbean and Central America regions with our head office based in Fort Lauderdale, Florida.

Position Summary:
The Finance Analyst has the primary responsibility of providing analytical support for Commercial team business initiatives and performance analysis to identify risks and opportunities in a timely manner.

The Business Analyst will assist the Sr Finance Business Analyst in the development and maintenance modeling systems/tools, produce detailed analysis of shipments, depletions, stock levels, and customer investment, and work closely with cross-functional teams to drive results & explain P&L performance.

This position will have to provide the right support to Commercial & Marketing with focus on: business orientation, reactivity & collaboration. The position will require to develop strong relationships with the business unit team with a basis of strong analytical and financial modeling skillset. Strong level on Excel & IT tools manipulation is required.

Essentials of the job:

Volumes Analysis (Stock Levels, Depletions & Shipments) for actuals & for forecasting:

  • Support in managing stock / depletions data collection process for actuals & forecast
  • Review with commercial team on a quarterly basis at least, challenges
    depletions trends and closely
    monitors stock
    level

    identifies risks and opportunities and notifies the teams in a timely manner
  • Estimate depletions using shipments trend
  • Analyze trends and prepares monthly commentaries to be circulated to all relevant parties
  • Participate in commercial forecasting, planning and budgeting process by providing insight on depletion trends, stock positions, allocated volumes, and other relevant information

    Profit & Loss:

  • Provide P&L by analytical categories (brands, markets, clients, channel) to the Business Unit team on a monthly basis vs. previous year and vs. objective with specific comments on performance drivers and distance to Go.
  • Supporting Senior Analyst in Advertising & Promotions management:

    • Performance Monitoring & Resource allocation: provide tools to measure A&P efficiencies by brand / channel. Control investments against budget, ensure proper allocation by customer / brand / promo-type. Assist in preparation and coordination of A&P budget & latest estimates
    • Internal Control: ensure accuracy of committed amounts and proper backups for purchase orders
    • Support purchase order management & A&P tools: manage monthly and year end accrual process, run reconciliation process, constantly seek s Administrator of Advertising & Promotion
  • Assist in the preparation of the comments supporting the volumes and financial data sent to GTR by providing insightful and relevant information about market performance, trends, latest developments, pricing promotions, overall performance
  • Ensure data integrity between systems
  • Any other subject, project or analysis that would be necessary to support the Business Unit team

    Other:

  • Process improvement: constantly seek improvements & implement process or IT tool changes
  • Support Finance team in various presentations to GTR or to the BU
  • Support Commercial team in preparation for customer’s meetings

Qualifications/Requirements:

Education/training:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Finance; knowledge of accounting (P&L and Balance Sheet) & experience in financial modeling. Strong working knowledge of Excel; Experience working with large amount of data.
  • Strong analytical skills and ability to think strategically/ conceptually and take the initiative to lead results. Ability to automate reports and procedures streamlining processes to create efficiencies
  • Requires Advanced Level Excel and PowerPoint skills (i.e., macros, pivot tables, complex formulas, dashboards, etc.)
  • Experience with database software/report writers (e.g., Access, SQL, Oracle BI) strongly preferred
  • Requires solid understanding of database systems and system integrations
  • Ability to automate reports and procedures streamlining processes to create efficiencies

Working experience:
Minimum 3 years in financial analysis/planning in consumer goods, experience working in reporting for Finance and/or for Commercial & Marketing is a plus.

Character:
Rigorous, takes ownership of his/her work, able to work in a dynamic environment with short term deadlines, able to challenge commercial & marketing
