DB2 LUW Database Administrator – Database Analyst 5

Job Description

This position is part of the Enterprise Database Management (EDM) – IBM Database team, within Enterprise Technology Infrastructure (ETI).

This group is looking for a highly skilled, senior level DB2 Linux, Unix & Windows (LUW) Database Administrator (DBA).

The person selected will help lead the planning, analysis, design, implementation, maintenance, and control of the organization’s server-class databases. Consults with and advises senior management and multiple clients on high impact data or database management issues, influencing strategic direction.

Handles and leads various large-scale or highly complex data/database management activities including one or more of the following:

Designing highly complex logical and/or physical databases

Leading highly complex data modeling, mapping, integration, and capacity planning efforts

Developing management policies, procedures and standards

Business requirements identification, analysis and development.

Provides mentoring, guidance and general oversight to less experienced staff in a variety of database design, administration and/or modeling activities. Leads complex projects. Required Qualifications

7+ years of database design and administration experience

5+ years of experience administering DB2 LUW (DB2 for Linux, UNIX and Windows) Desired Qualifications

Strong analytical skills with high attention to detail and accuracy

Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills Other Desired Qualifications

Advanced knowledge in regards to the design and implementation of DB2 LUW databases.

Advanced knowledge in the configuration, optimization and troubleshooting of DB2 LUW instances.

Strong Knowledge of DB2 LUW replication; SQL and Q Replication.

Strong Knowledge of DB2 LUW High Availability Disaster Recovery (HADR).

Strong knowledge of DB2 LUW Data Partitioning Feature (DFP).

7+ years of database management experience Job Expectations
