Budget Analyst

POSITION SUMMARY:
The Budget Analyst will be responsible for the collection and maintenance of data for the district budgets , and the validation of data by providing checks and balances against established criterion. The Budget Analyst will perform a variety of budget tasks in the review and analysis of school and program budgets. This position reports to an Assistant Director (Budget Services).

ESSENTIAL DUTIES:
Coordinate collection of multiple district budget submissions; ensure data is received from all Principals and Budget Center Managers

Process budget transfers and validate funding source for hourly forms and One-time Payment forms

Analyze and reconcile budget data, review and reconcile final budget output with original input data

Maintain integrity of budget documentation

Provide budget assistance to Principals and Budget Center managers, run Lawson and ad hoc Excel budget reports

Prepare all input data needed to generate site based school budget allotments and assist in calculation of leveling adjustments

Assemble budget data from various internal and external sources in preparation of Annual Budget Book

Assist in developing and conducting training for budget center managers in various formats and throughout the course of the year

School and department visits in support of budget development and to offer exemplary customer service

Perform other duties as assigned by an Assistant Director of Budget Services and Executive Director of Budget Services

Required to attend scheduled shift during regular/business hours as mandated

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES:
Excellent verbal and written communication skills

Proficient in Microsoft Suite, including Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook

Ability to communicate clearly and courteously by telephone and in written correspondence

Experience with a business ERP system

Ability to work under pressure, dependable and meet deadlines

Requirements

EDUCATION:
Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in Finance, Public Administration, Accounting, or related field is required

WORK EXPERIENCE:
A minimum of two to three years of experience in budget, finance or accounting is required

Government or school district experience preferred

Compensation

SALARY GRADE: 126

SALARY RANGE: $51, 526 to $74, 069

WORK DAYS: 254 Days (Annual)
