General Description

District Council 1707 Local 389 Home Care Employees Health and Welfare Fund seeks an experienced financial professional to join our team. This exempt position requires constant interaction with the Fund Administrator.

Responsibilities

  • Keep accurate financial records for the organization.
  • Calculates and submits payroll, which includes health insurance and retirement contributions.
  • Handles all incoming mail and filing duties for the Bookkeeping Department.
  • Deposits account receivables into the Fund’s bank accounts.
  • Prepares appropriate schedules and financial reports as requested by the Fund Administrator.
  • Prepare accurate financial reports for the Fund Administrator and the Board of Trustees.
  • Communicate both in verbal and written form with suppliers and banking contacts.
  • Manage office supplies orders.
  • Send monthly delinquent contribution invoices to all contributing employers of the Fund.
  • Ensure all financial records are maintained in compliance with accepted policies and procedures.
  • Reconcile and report all incoming medical co-premiums for all contributing employers and our members.
  • Serves as a member of management team and work collaboratively with the Fund Administrator.
  • Performs other duties as assigned by the Fund Administrator.

Qualifications

  • Associates Degree in accounting required (Bachelor’s Degree preferred).
  • At least 4 years of professional experience as a Bookkeeper is preferred.
  • Experience with accounting software products such as QuickBooks, Microsoft Office products (Excel in particular), etc.
  • Ability to plan and prioritize effectively, manage multiple projects and to meet competing demands and deadlines.
  • Must be trustworthy, have strong communication and customer service skills, have a keen attention to detail, excellent computer skills and strong organizational and interpersonal skills.
