Application Developer

Job Description:
Develops, enhances, debugs, supports, maintains and tests software applications that support business units or supporting functions. These application program solutions may involve diverse development platforms, software, hardware, technologies and tools. Participates in the design, development and implementation of complex applications, often using new technologies. May provide technical direction and system architecture for individual initiatives. Serves as a fully seasoned/proficient technical resource. Will not have direct reports but may lead projects and direct activities of a team related to special initiatives or operations. May have responsibility for a project and project budget. May collaborate with external programmers to coordinate delivery of software application. Routine accountability is for technical knowledge and capabilities. Works under minimal supervision, with general guidance from more seasoned consultants. Typically requires 5-7 years of experience.

Job Description

• Programming on Liferay portal, portlet, web sockets and Ext-JS / Angular JS
• Hands-on development.
• Strong SQL and PL/SQL skills
• Communicate with global teams to collect/understand requirements, design and code solutions.

Required Skills:

• Strong understanding of Product Lifecycle, SDLC, Strength with leading projects and interacting with end users.
• Java/J2EE/RESTAPI
• Ext-JS / Angular JS, Portlet and Liferay Portal development
• Experience with HTML5 web sockets using Nirvana / AMPS
• Oracle and Sybase or SQL Server or DB2 or DB2/400
• Java Mail, XML parsers, JUnit.
• Working knowledge of version control tools like SVN.
• Database skills like SQL and SQL Procedural programming.
• Proficiency on ORACLE
• Good understanding of build tools like Maven.
• Should be able work with Unix commands.
• Investment banking background

Secondary Skills (Good to Have):

• Derivatives background.
• 5+ years’ C# .NET experience (server side)
• 2+ years System design/Architecture experience
• 2+ years Technical Analysis experience (liaising with Business analysts in refining requirements)
• Experience of Scrum/Agile methods
• Experience of Test Driven Development/Behavior Driven Development practices including continuous integration

Experience

• 12+ years experience in an IT Application development environment. (Capital Markets experience preferred)
• 10+ Years experience on Java/J2EE & Web UI technologies
• 7+ Years experience in Oracle and Sybase or SQL Server or DB2 or DB2/400
